Belvedere: Bringing Hollywood-Style Luxury Living to the Gold Coast
Behind the Design

Infused with drama and personality, Belvedere brings Hollywood Hills-style luxury living to a Gold Coast property. Every corner exudes glamour, from breathtaking bathrooms and indulgent living spaces to a showstopping kitchen adorned by Corchia marble and an opulent outdoor entertaining area.
We explore this striking residence by Koda Design, where luxurious materials and multiple tapware finishes by ABI Interiors combine to create a truly unforgettable living experience.

Belvedere enjoys a private, tranquil setting in the Gold Coast Hinterland hills — a world away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Burleigh Heads. Don’t be fooled by its dark façade either. Rebecca Power, co-director of Koda Design, perfectly compares this Gold Coast property to ‘a cocoon with a beautiful butterfly inside’, one that teases the elegance within.
Initially based in LA, the owners had an ambitious vision that guided Belvedere’s creation. They sought to incorporate rich Breccia and Corchia marble among their favourite textures, patterns, and colours while avoiding the constraints of a single design theme.
“We were really lucky with our clients. They had a very clear view of what they wanted. [Bringing] that feeling they loved so much in Los Angeles to Australia,” says Rebecca.
“They wanted to bring their family up here, [as well as] their experience and love of travelling, and recreate that in their home. When I was reading the brief, it was just beautiful. They brought the glam of Hollywood with them.”

“The brief for the kitchen was to be a show kitchen. It was part of the open living space. We wanted everybody to walk in and be ‘wowed’ by the kitchen.”
Rebecca says the brief explicitly called for a ‘show kitchen’ to stand out in the open-plan living space. Chrome tapware was selected for its shiny, reflective finish, helping elevate the Corchia marble's muted tones. Everything else, from the minimalist white cabinetry to the warm timber accents, was designed to emphasise the marble’s striking presence.

While consistent tapware finishes are typically traditional, Belvedere takes a more considered approach — using a mix of ABI Interiors’ finishes, including brushed brass, brushed gunmetal and chrome, to reflect each room’s unique character and design intent.
“We really liked ABI because what we were able to do [was] keep the same tapware throughout but use different finishes — we didn’t want to use the same finish throughout the house,” continues Rebecca.
“We wanted the tapware to match the personality of each individual space.”
An example of this is a powder room that embraces a dark, moody aesthetic. The metallic finish of our brushed gunmetal tapware perfectly complements the solid grey Breccia marble vanity, which features a built-in basin.

The living space impresses too — the bar’s textured black oak cabinetry strikingly contrasts with the kitchen’s crisp Corchia marble lines. That same marble is used around the fireplace, creating a beautiful visual rhythm. The bar is functional yet discreet, seamlessly integrated into the wall. This space also becomes a natural extension of the spacious alfresco entertaining area, creating a seamless connection between the indoor and tranquil outdoor landscape.

“Something I’m really proud about with project Belvedere was that we were able to combine luxurious materials whilst maintaining thoughtful, spatial arrangements.”
Leading upstairs, the marble staircase is thoughtfully balanced with Venetian plaster, creating a harmonious interplay of textures. Being frequent travellers who love luxury hotels in the States, the owners had a clear vision for their bedrooms: to recreate the feeling of their favourite hotel stays at home. For example, the Pendry Hotel in West Hollywood inspired one of the guest bedrooms, capturing the same sense of comfort, sophistication, and refined detail.

This epitome of luxury living wouldn’t be complete without a media room — this one channels the complete cinematic experience. A charcoal Fyber silk carpet and felt-lined black walls create an immersive atmosphere, subtly illuminated by integrated LED lighting. There’s even a striking Marquina marble popcorn bar that adds a touch of drama to the scene.

“I think any owner living in this space [lives] amongst opulence and luxury, yet I think it just feels like home,” continues Rebecca.
“The emotion is, ‘It feels like home.’”
