Blanca: A Reimagined Queenslander Home Where Arch French Doors and Marble Stone Honour Its Heritage
House Tour

Just minutes from the heart of Brisbane, in a quiet suburban street, sits Blanca — a thoughtfully renovated Queenslander home that blends old-world charm with contemporary elegance.
We explore how arches, curved details, deep-veined marble stone tiles, and brushed nickel tapware come together to define the timeless appeal of this unique Brisbane property.

From the outset, Blanca offers a beautifully welcoming entrance with its arch French doors. This leads into an entryway that sets the tone for the rest of the home with shaker-profile cabinetry, a dedicated linen cupboard, and a refined marble stone console table.
Further inside, a downstairs bathroom captures the essence of Blanca’s design philosophy. Here, the sconces, curved vanity, and arched mirrors, along with the distinctive deep veins of the marble stone tiles, are beautifully balanced by our brushed nickel tapware.
Nearby, the open-plan living area features classic design choices, such as a travertine coffee table and a floral rug, lending the space a subtle European elegance. A modern, low-profile couch anchors the room with clean, contemporary lines, while an elegant glass-door wine cabinet offers a stylish and functional transition between the kitchen and living areas.

Moving towards the kitchen and dining space, the ceiling lifts into a pitched roof with exposed beams, creating an airy, expansive feel. The kitchen perfectly balances classic and contemporary, with clean lines, refined detailing, and a marble island that serves as a striking focal point. ABI Interiors’ stainless steel Commercial Kitchen Mixer and Ontario Double Kitchen Sink complement this space beautifully.

Another architectural hallmark of Blanca is the striking spiral staircase. Handcrafted with a textured render, it curves elegantly and is perfectly complemented by the oak blonde timber flooring that wraps around and guides you to the next level.

On the second floor, the main bathroom mirrors the aesthetic of its downstairs counterpart. The continued use of marble stone tiles creates cohesion across the wet areas, reinforcing the home’s sense of curated consistency.
Further on, the snug second living space pays homage to the home’s 1930s origins. Preserved details, such as original glass windows and ornate ceiling mouldings, infuse the room with charm, character, and a touch of nostalgia — adding layers of warmth and authenticity.

Generously sized and bathed in natural light, the primary bedroom continues the home’s neutral palette and refined finishes. In the ensuite, a double vanity featuring ABI’s Namika Basin Sink in matte white, our Elysian Heated Towel Ladder, and a large shower showcasing our Shower Dropper and hand shower in our brushed nickel finish make an impact. Like the rest of the home, this space honours the past while embracing contemporary comfort.

As we step outside into the entertaining area, we are greeted by a space that captures the laid-back Queensland lifestyle. A cosy seating area and barbecue are set against rich, brown-toned tiles that echo the earthy hues of the surrounding landscape, flowing seamlessly into the effortlessly indulgent pool area. A handcrafted, rendered bench seating recalls the style and texture of the spiral staircase inside, beautifully tying together the indoor and outdoor aesthetic.
Blanca is a grand Queenslander home where every corner tells a story, respecting its heritage while confidently stepping into the future.
