HOUSE TOUR | RUIN X: A RENDERED, MEDITERRANEAN MODERN HOME

Ruin X has literally and figuratively rendered itself as a property in its own league. Crafted from the minds of Matt Jamieson and Emma Sweeny, the expansive Australian home is almost entirely rendered, presenting an entirely new stylistic concept to the Burleigh Waters area.

Characterised by sweeping arches, a bespoke niche wall, and a vast selection of ABI Interiors’ brushed copper range, the home celebrates a Mediterranean flair while ensuring that it’s unlike anything else on the market.

Extravagant yet extremely functional, Ruin X boasts just the right amount of eccentricity to command your attention. We were lucky to visit the home, and here are some photos from our time.

Entrance — Flanked by six metre canary palms, Emma Sweeny (left) and Matt Jamieson (right) stand at the entrance to the home.

Niche-Wall — A handmade niche wall brings a personal touch to the living room.

Dining — The dining table is from Object X, Emma and Matt’s furniture brand.

Kitchen1 — The Italian onyx marble benchtop is a striking focal point. Featuring our Elysian Commercial Pull-Out Kitchen Mixer.

Kitchen2 — The open-plan design makes it easy to flow through the kitchen.

Butlers-Pantry — Tucked neatly away is the backlit butler’s pantry.

Powder-Room — Kitchen powder room featuring the Milani Assembly Taps and Spout Set.

The Elysian Kitchen Mixer and Tezra Cabinetry Pulls adorn the laundry.

Pool — The pool area is underpinned by a classic Mediterranean feel.

Alfresco — The alfresco is an entertainer’s dream.

WIR — The opulent walk-in-robe in the master bedroom.

Ensuite2 — The generously sized master ensuite feels bright and airy.

Ensuite1 — Harlow Basin Sinks bring contrast to the rendered vanity.

Shower — The bright ensuite shower, featuring a selection of brushed copper fixtures.

Main-Bedroom — The master bedroom includes a unique rendered bed frame.

Bedroom2 — Ruin X features four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Hall — The rendered hall to the master bedroom, featuring the Davis Door Handle.

Bathroom1 — Beige walls make the home feel calming, while brushed copper lifts the energy.

Bathroom2 — The Floor-Mounted Bath Filler carries the arched theme into the communal bathroom.
