Can you change the front door handle without changing the lock?

Yes. With ABI’s Roller Mortice Sets, the handles or pulls can be changed without needing to replace the lock itself.For the ABI Davis Entry Door Handle and Lockset, the handle is a specific rotating type and is the only compatible option for this lockset. Other handle types cannot be used. We recommend checking compatibility before making any changes to ensure your lockset continues to function correctly.

Do front door handles come with locks?

Certain ABI front door handles are available with integrated locksets. We recommend checking each product listing for specific details on what’s included.

What finish is best for exterior door handles?

This is entirely a matter of personal preference. Our hardware is available in a range of durable finishes designed for outdoor use, including brushed brass, brushed copper, brushed gunmetal, and stainless steel. We also offer stone materials, including travertine, Carrara marble, and concrete.

Can I match my front door handle to my interior hardware

Please be reassured that your chosen finish will be consistent across all our kitchen, bathroom and laundry ranges. Within each colour, variations in finish occur between stainless steel and solid brass, but the difference is negligible.You can create a cohesive look by coordinating your entry door handle with your interior hardware. Maintaining consistency across entry handles, cabinet pulls, and other fixtures helps achieve a polished, unified appearance throughout your home.

Do I need a eurocylinder for my door handle to lock?

Yes, if you want your door handle to provide a locking function, a compatible eurocylinder lock is required. Most ABI entry door handles are designed to work with our eurocylinder locks, which are sold separately.The eurocylinder engages with the handle’s latch mechanism to secure the door. If your handle is installed without a eurocylinder, it will function as a pull handle only and will not provide locking functionality. Always ensure the cylinder matches your door thickness and the handle’s specifications.

Can your handles be installed in metal or glass doors?

Most ABI door handles are specifically designed for use with timber doors. Some can be installed on metal or aluminium doors, usually for single-sided use only. They are generally not suitable for direct installation into glass. Always check the product specifications. We recommend consulting a professional installer. Specifically, our Modi Adjustable and Imes Half Moon Entry Door Pulls can be installed on both sides of metal and glass doors. However, they can’t be installed single-sided onto glass doors. For metal doors, ensure the metal is thick enough to hold the appropriate screws securely.Please note that ABI’s travertine pulls are only suitable for single-sided metal doors.

Are your handles suitable for double doors?

Yes, many of ABI’s door handles, including the Half Moon Entry Door Pull, can be installed on double doors. Simply purchase two handles (or consider the pair option, where available) to achieve a balanced, cohesive look across both door leaves. All can be used for internal and external doors.Please also note that, except for our Davis Entry Door Handle, most of our door handles can also be used as dummy handles.

Are your door handles sold as a pair?

A selection of our front door handles are sold as a pair, including our Half Moon Entry Door Pulls. However, the majority of our door handles are sold individually.

Can your half-moon handles be installed on both sides?

Yes, the Half Moon Entry Door Pull can be installed on both sides of a door for a cohesive look. We recommend purchasing two handles or choosing our pair option for double-sided installation.Double-sided installation is suitable for timber doors, while aluminium doors may only support single-sided installation due to limitations on fixing. Always refer to the product’s specification sheet for installation details, including door thickness and hardware requirements. Our travertine door pulls are only suitable for single-sided metal doors. The screw heads would need to be recessed to accommodate the handle on the other side, which may be difficult in a metal door.
