So the cooking part can be fun, but cleaning your kitchen afterwards is usually a chore. If you’ve ever cleaned a kitchen before, you’ll know you need a few key products.
Lets start with choosing your cleaning products. There are loads of sprays and wipes to choose from. Home made, organic, chemical free, fragrance free, non toxic…we love seeing these word on cleaning products.
Not only are they better for your general health, they usually work just as well. Some are better than their chemical counterparts!
However, they can still have strong active ingredients. These can react with certain surfaces. So make sure you choose products for specific surfaces.
Choose Your Tools
Okay, things are getting serious! The tools that you use when cleaning your kitchen are so important. Some hold too much water. Some could scratch your surfaces. Some aren’t strong enough.
Above all, if you choose wisely it bring results. Mainly because it can help to make cleaning easier. Even better, it may also help to reduce the amount of time you spend cleaning. Win Win!!

Cooktop & Oven
It might feel better to start cleaning the easy parts first. But hear us out…by starting with things like the oven or coocktop, you can apply your cleaning product and allow it to get to work.
This will make it easier to wipe down after a few minutes. It’s a good idea to start cleaning from the top down. So spend those few minutes, wiping down any overhead cabinetry. Grease loves to hang around there, so give them a quick wipe weekly.
Next up is the rangehood. It’s literally a grease trap. So it does need regular attention. Remove the filters and wash in super hot, soapy water weekly. Try soaking them for a more thorough clean. Some are even dishwasher friendly (yes, bonus!) so pop them in every now and then.
Ugh, the oven. This is where it could get ugly! If you get into the habit of giving it a wipe out each week, this is life-changing.
The Final Polish
The benchtops are up next. Cleaning your kitchen benchtops can require particular products.
Certain materials like marble require special cleaning products. Engineered stone and laminate is a bit more forgiving. So it can withstand most normal cleaning products. A soft daily cloth and a gentle spray cleanser should work perfectly.
For more stubborn drips of food & drink, simply wet some paper towel. Let it soften for a minute or two. Then it should wipe away easily.
Got a superficial mark or stain that won’t come off? Try a Magic Eraser. This handy little product is a lifesaver! Simply wet it, squeeze dry and rub the area gently, in small circles. The marks will disappear before your eyes. Insider Tip – Don’t rub the same spot too much or too hard. It acts like a super fine sandpaper and could damage surfaces if not used correctly.
